The Îles de Los are a small group of islands located about 2 kilometers off the coast of Conakry, Guinea, in West Africa. The archipelago includes three main islands—Tamara, Kassa, and Roume—and several smaller islets. Known for their beautiful beaches and forested landscapes, these volcanic-origin islands are popular with tourists.

Historically, they were significant in the Atlantic slave trade and were once controlled by the British before being handed over to the French in the early 20th century. Tamara Island has a lighthouse and once held a prison, while Kassa was formerly called Factory Island due to an early trading post. The islands are part of Guinea’s Conakry region and are valued for both their natural beauty and historical importance.

Ferries connect the islands with the mainland, making them accessible for visitors. Their volcanic geology dates back to the Cretaceous period, contributing to their unique landscape and environment.
