Kantajew Temple
Dinajpur, Rangpur Division, Bangladesh
Kantajew Temple (also known as Kantaji Temple) in Dinajpur is one of Bangladesh’s finest examples of Hindu temple architecture and is especially famous for its exquisite terracotta artwork.
Built in the 18th century and dedicated to Lord Krishna and Rukmini, the temple is richly decorated with intricate clay panels depicting scenes from Hindu epics, religious stories, and everyday life in Bengal. Originally constructed in the traditional nine-spired style, its spires were destroyed in the 1897 earthquake, but the temple remains a remarkable symbol of Bangladesh’s cultural, artistic, and religious heritage.
