Kaysersberg-Vignoble is a commune in the Haut-Rhin department of northeastern France, formed in 2016 by merging the former communes of Kaysersberg, Kientzheim, and Sigolsheim.
The area lies along the famous Alsace Wine Route, known for its vineyards and wine production, especially the Grand Cru Schlossberg. Kaysersberg itself is a historic town first mentioned in 1227, with a Germanic name meaning "Emperor's Mountain."
It was an imperial city from 1293, developing around a medieval castle that overlooks the town and the Weiss river. The commune features well-preserved medieval architecture, including half-timbered houses, a fortified bridge, medieval ramparts, and the Church of Holy Cross with its carved wooden altarpiece.
Kaysersberg is celebrated for its charm and cultural richness, having been voted the favorite village of the French in 2017. It is also the birthplace of Nobel laureate Albert Schweitzer, whose birthplace is now a museum.
The area offers numerous walking and cycling routes through vineyards and forests, along with lively festivals and markets throughout the year, attracting visitors seeking both history and scenic beauty.
