Kitsilano
Vancouver, Canada, Canada
Kitsilano, often called “Kits,” is a popular neighbourhood on the west side of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, nestled along the south shore of English Bay between West Point Grey and Fairview.
It is known for its relaxed, beach‑oriented lifestyle, with Kitsilano Beach and the large saltwater Kitsilano Pool at its heart, drawing locals for swimming, sunbathing, and summer activities year after year. The area is mostly residential, with a mix of heritage homes and newer townhouses, and is home to busy commercial strips along West 4th Avenue and West Broadway that feature eclectic shops, yoga studios, organic markets, and a wide range of cafes and restaurants.
Kitsilano also has strong cultural roots, named after the Squamish chief August Jack Khatsahlano and serving as a former hub for Vancouver’s counterculture and the early yoga and wellness scene that helped launch global brands such as lululemon.
