Kołobrzeg is a port and spa city in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship of north‑western Poland, sitting on the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the Parsęta River with a population of about 47,000–50,000 people. It is one of the largest and most popular seaside resorts on the Polish coast, known for its long sandy beach over 10 km in length, mild climate, and status as the country’s largest health spa, using therapeutic mud and brine for medical and wellness treatments. The town has a long history as a Slavic stronghold and later a Hanseatic trading center, with medieval roots and rebuilt architecture after heavy damage in World War II. Today Kołobrzeg offers a mix of beach tourism, spa facilities, and cultural sights such as the 14th‑century Gothic Cathedral, the historic Town Hall, a maritime lighthouse, a pier, and the Museum of Polish Arms, along with frequent festivals and events that draw both Polish and international visitors.
