La Poza de las Mujeres is a picturesque, protected beach in Manatí on Puerto Rico’s north coast, famous for its natural rock pool with calm, clear waters that make it ideal for swimming and family visits.

The beach gets its name from the 1600s–1700s, when only women from high society came here to bathe in private. It belongs to the Hacienda La Esperanza Natural Reserve and is surrounded by mangroves, with visitors reaching the water by walking through a trail of hicaco plants and carefully descending distinctive eolianite rocks—ancient sand dunes that hardened into rock and now house various crab species.

The scenic beach is considered one of Puerto Rico’s best, offering a peaceful, natural setting with a sheltered tidal pool that stays calm even when nearby waves are strong, though visitors should still exercise caution during rough surf conditions. Nearby attractions include Playa Cueva de las Golondrinas, and the area provides basic facilities like parking for visitors.
