Langesø Castle
Morud, Denmark, Denmark
Langesø Castle is a picturesque 18th-century manor house in classicist style, built between 1774 and 1778 beside a long, narrow lake—hence its name meaning "long lake"—in the forested area of Morud, Denmark.
First mentioned in 1415 with earlier structures on the site dating back to Queen Margrethe I's era, including a 1554 tower that sank into the lakeshore, it passed through noble families like Skinkel, Bryske, and Berner, who elevated it to barony status.
Donated to the Langesø Foundation in 1977 by the last baron, it now attracts visitors for its scenic surroundings, hiking and MTB trails through ancient exotic forests, a nearby golf course, and the idyllic Langesø Chapel.
