Laosicheng is an ancient Tusi site in Yongshun County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan, China, and it was the seat of the Peng family’s local rule from 1135 to 1724.
It is known as the largest and best-preserved ancient Tusi city site in China, and it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015 as part of the Tusi Sites group. Today, it is valued for showing how the old chieftain system worked and for preserving the history and culture of the Tujia people.
