The Liberation War Museum in Dhaka, Bangladesh, is a major cultural institution dedicated to preserving the history and memory of the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, which led to the country's independence. 

Established in 1996 through a citizen-led initiative, the museum collects and displays artifacts, documents, photographs, personal belongings, and testimonies related to the struggle for freedom. Located in Agargaon, the museum houses more than 21,000 artifacts and presents exhibits that trace Bangladesh’s journey from the language movement and political struggles to the war, genocide, refugee crisis, and ultimate victory in 1971.

It also highlights the experiences of freedom fighters and ordinary people who played a role in the independence movement. Widely regarded as one of Bangladesh’s most important museums, the Liberation War Museum serves as both an educational center and a memorial. Its exhibitions help visitors understand the sacrifices, resilience, and historical events that shaped the birth of modern Bangladesh.
