Lipowiec Castle in Wygiełzów, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland, is a 13th-century hilltop ruin originally built as a wooden fortified manor house by the Bishops of Kraków, evolving into a stone Gothic fortress with a prominent 30-meter tower, defensive walls, and residential wings around an inner courtyard.

Strategically positioned at 362 meters above sea level near Babice, west of Kraków, it served as an episcopal residence, observation post, and notably from the 14th century as a prison for errant clergy, including heretics and disobedient priests, with cells on upper floors.

Repeatedly rebuilt after damages from Swedish invasions in the 17th century and a devastating 19th-century fire, it fell into picturesque decay but now features protected ruins, a deep well, new access stairs, and a small exhibition of historical artifacts and graphics, drawing visitors for its panoramic views and medieval atmosphere.
