Long Mei Beach
Hong Kong, China
Long Mei Beach, more commonly known as Lung Mei Beach, is an artificial gazetted beach in Tai Po, in the New Territories of Hong Kong, created to extend public swimming access in the district.
The roughly 200‑meter‑long sandy beach lies along Ting Kok Road, adjacent to the popular outdoor hub of Tai Mei Tuk and the Plover Cove Reservoir, and is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. It offers basic facilities such as changing rooms, showers, toilets, lifeguard services during the swimming season, and a shark‑prevention net, making it a safe and family‑friendly spot for a day of swimming and sunbathing.
The beach is easily reached by public bus or minibus from Tai Po Market MTR station and is favored by locals seeking a relaxed, well‑serviced beach close to cycling and hiking trails in the northeastern New Territories.
