The National Botanical Garden in Chișinău, officially named the National Botanical Garden "Alexandru Ciubotaru," is Moldova's primary botanical research institution and one of the country's most significant green spaces, founded on September 1, 1951 by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova under the guidance of renowned botanist academician Alexandru Ciubotaru, who served as director for over 32 years.

Located in the south-eastern Botanica district near the City Gates at Strada Pădurii 18, the garden spans 104 hectares and serves both as a center for botanical research and conservation and as a public park for visitors. It houses nearly 10,000 plant species from Moldova and around the world, including specialized thematic sections such as an Alpinarium with about 50 species.

A Dendrarium with approximately 560 tree and shrub species, a Flora Moldovei sector showcasing native trees, shrubs, and grasses, a Rosarium, a Pinarium, and notably a Tropical and Subtropical Plants sector featuring about 2,550 species collected globally.
