The Nauru Museum, also known as the Naoero Museum, is located in the Yaren District of Nauru and officially opened in 2019.

It serves as the national museum of the Republic of Nauru, showcasing the island’s rich cultural heritage, history, and traditions through a collection of artifacts, historical photographs, and exhibits. The museum covers various aspects of Nauru’s past including its traditional life, the phosphate mining era, World War II events, and the ongoing efforts to preserve Nauruan language and culture.

Outside the museum, visitors can also see open-air displays such as World War II relics including a plane engine, anti-aircraft guns, a sea mine, and remnants of a narrow-gauge railway used for phosphate transport. The museum plays an important role in educating locals and tourists about Nauru’s unique identity and history, and admission is free with visiting hours on weekdays.
