Established as a private noble town in 1576 in the historic Bełz Land, it features a local trade and service economy, a railway station on the Lubaczów–Jarosław line, and road connections via provincial route 865.
The town retains a 17th-century rectangular manor house built by the Sieniawski family with corner bastions and an adjacent geometric garden, reflecting its noble past amid diverse Polish, Ukrainian, and Jewish heritage from the interwar period.
