Oliferne is a historic site located in the Jura department of eastern France near the commune of Vescles. It is known for the ruins of the Château d'Oliferne, a 13th-century castle built atop the peak called Pic d'Oliferne, which stands at an altitude of 807 meters.

The castle ruins offer spectacular panoramic views over the Ain Valley, surrounding Jura mountains, and on clear days, even the distant Alps and Mont Blanc.

The site is accessible by a steep path from nearby Boutavant and includes informational displays about the castle’s defensive structures and medieval history.

Volunteers are actively involved in restoring the castle, and the area hosts occasional cultural activities and guided walks, making it a popular destination for history enthusiasts and hikers looking to explore natural beauty combined with medieval heritage.​
