Pałac w Łące Prudnickiej
Łąka Prudnicka, Poland, Poland
Pałac w Łące Prudnickiej is a Renaissance castle ruin in Łąka Prudnicka village, southwestern Poland's Opole Voivodeship, originating in the 15th century as a Piast Niemodliński stronghold possibly linked to the Wrbnów knightly family, with oldest preserved elements from 1525-1530 in the northern, western, and southern wings.
Expanded in 1593 by the Tschentschau-Mettich noble family into a four-winged residence around an internal courtyard featuring sgraffito decorations, cross vaults, barrel vaults with lunettes, and a southern corner tower, it underwent Renaissance modernization in 1615-1617 creating a three-winged layout closed by a blind wall.
Further altered with a neo-Gothic overhaul in 1875-1883 under Johannes Karl von Sedlnitzky—including expanded northern wing, broken roofline, neo-Gothic portal, additional square tower, and landscape park replacing earlier gardens—the 53-room, 3,000 m² complex now faces structural decay despite retained historic interiors.
