Phalsbourg is a historic town in the Moselle department of the Grand Est region in northeastern France, located near the border between Alsace and Lorraine and about 40–45 kilometers northwest of Strasbourg.
It has a population of around 4,700 residents and serves as the center of the Pays de Phalsbourg area. Founded in 1570 by Count Palatine George John of Veldenz, the town later became part of France and was fortified by the famous military engineer Vauban in the 17th century. Many of its historic defenses and gateways still remain, giving Phalsbourg a distinctive architectural character.
Situated on the western slopes of the Vosges Mountains, Phalsbourg is known for its scenic surroundings and its proximity to the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park.
