Pier Giżycko
Giżycko, Poland, Poland
Pier Giżycko, located on Lake Niegocin in Giżycko, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Poland, is a prominent 406-meter-long reinforced concrete walking pier constructed in 1970 and significantly strengthened and extended in 2011 to serve as both a scenic breakwater protecting the nearby port and Ekomarina.
Extending initially 72 meters perpendicularly into the lake before curving parallel to the shoreline, it features shaded benches, panoramic vistas of the water, port activity, and surrounding Masurian landscapes, making it Poland's second-longest pier after Sopot's wooden one.
Popular among tourists for leisurely strolls, photography, and year-round enjoyment—especially serene in winter—it enhances Giżycko's status as the "Sailing Capital" of the Great Masurian Lakes region.
