Playa La Plata
Puerto Diablo, Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico
Playa La Plata, also called Silver Beach, is a secluded, pristine white-sand beach on Vieques island in Puerto Rico, within the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge near Puerto Diablo on the island's remote eastern coast.
Its sparkling pure white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters create a honeymooners' paradise with excellent snorkeling on the right side amid coral reefs, though it lacks amenities like restrooms or shade, requiring visitors to bring their own supplies.
Accessible via rough roads through the Garcia Gate off Route 995, it stays nearly empty even in high season, perfect for peaceful swimming, kayaking, and nearby hidden coves like Platita and Escondida.
