Playuela Beach, also commonly known as Playa Sucia, is a stunning crescent-shaped white sand beach located at the southwestern tip of Puerto Rico in Cabo Rojo, within the protected Cabo Rojo National Wildlife Refuge.

This remote, all-natural beach features calm, gentle turquoise waters in a sheltered cove surrounded by red limestone cliffs, with spectacular views of the historic Los Morrillos Lighthouse perched on the cliffside just steps away. The beach is free to visit with free parking, but has limited parking space and no services like restrooms, showers, food vendors, or lifeguards, so visitors should bring their own water, sunscreen, and supplies.

It can get quite busy on weekends and during summer, though weekdays tend to be quieter, and currently the access road and parking gate are closed to vehicles, requiring a roughly 1.25-mile hot, sunny walk of about 30 minutes from the gate to reach the beach. The beach sometimes accumulates sargassum seaweed during summer months or cold weather periods (November to February), which can affect swimming but creates a distinctive marine smell, and while the water may appear slightly turbid from fine sand particles, it has high salinity that leaves skin feeling soft.
