Pomeranian Dukes' Castle in Szczecin, Poland, is a historic fortress built starting in 1346 by Duke Barnim III on the site of an earlier Slavic stronghold from the 8th century, serving as the seat of the Gryfit dynasty rulers of Pomerania until 1637.

Expanded by Casimir V in 1428 and rebuilt in Renaissance style between 1573-1582 under Duke John Frederick with Italian architects adding wings, a chapel, and mannerist decorations around a courtyard, it later saw Baroque modifications under Swedish and Prussian control, including a neoclassical tower in 1840.

Heavily damaged in World War II—with about 60% destroyed—it was meticulously restored post-war blending Gothic, Renaissance, and later styles, now functioning as a major cultural center, museum, hotel, and concert venue overlooking the Oder River.
