Przecław
Poland, Poland
Przecław is a town in southeastern Poland's Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Mielec County, situated on a hill above the Wisłoka River valley in the historic Sandomierz region.
First mentioned in 1419 with medieval town rights likely from the 14th century under Casimir the Great, it originated as a Slavic gord with a 12th-century church, protected by river and swampy forests, but declined after 1656 Swedish destruction and lost urban status in 1919 before regaining it in 2010.
The site features a Renaissance castle from the late 16th century, rebuilt in stone by the Koniecpolski family replacing an earlier wooden Ligęza residence, now a preserved manor amid a park.
