Przewodziszowice Defensive Watchtower
Żarki, Poland, Poland
Przewodziszowice Defensive Watchtower near Żarki, Poland, is a Gothic ruin from the 14th century, likely built under Casimir III the Great or Władysław Opolczyk to guard trade routes linking Silesia and Lesser Poland on the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland's limestone rocks.
Part of the Eagle's Nests Trail, it features a partially reconstructed 26-meter-long, 10-meter-high stone wall up to 1.8 meters thick, with a probable lower bailey protected by a rampart and moat at the rock's base.
From 1426–1454, it served as the base for notorious robber knight Mikołaj Kornicz "Siestrzeniec," who hid treasures in its deep well, supporting nearby fortresses like Ostrężnik amid the region's medieval defenses.
