Ruaha National Park

Central Tanzania, Tanzania

Ruaha National Park, located in central and southern Tanzania, is the country’s largest national park and one of Africa’s most important wilderness areas. Known for its remote, unspoiled landscapes, the park features vast savannas, baobab-studded plains, rocky hills, and the Great Ruaha River, which attracts large concentrations of wildlife during the dry season. Ruaha is famous for its huge elephant herds, large lion prides, and healthy populations of leopards, cheetahs, African wild dogs, buffalo, and many antelope species. With more than 570 recorded bird species and far fewer visitors than Tanzania’s northern safari parks, it offers an authentic and peaceful safari experience in a spectacular natural setting.
