Saint Lawrence Gap, often called “The Gap,” is a lively resort strip on the south coast of Barbados in the parish of Christ Church, about 5 km southeast of the capital Bridgetown. It runs for roughly 1.3–1.5 km along Highway 7 between Oistins and Worthing, lined with hotels, resorts, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, shops, and small inns right behind a stretch of soft, white‑sand beach. The area is known as the island’s main nightlife hub, with many places open from late afternoon into the early hours, while still offering daytime activities such as swimming, sunbathing, and watersports at nearby Dover Beach and St. Lawrence Bay. Recent urban‑renewal work has added a boardwalk, better lighting, and upgraded beach facilities, making it a convenient, walkable spot where visitors can eat, shop, party, and relax by the sea all within a short stretch.
