Serra do Cipó National Park, located in the state of Minas Gerais, is a sanctuary of natural beauty and biodiversity nestled within the Espinhaço Mountain Range. Established in 1984, the park spans over 31,000 hectares and is part of the Cerrado biome, one of the world’s most biologically rich savannas.

Its rugged terrain is sculpted by plateaus, canyons, and winding rivers, with the Cipó River carving through the landscape and feeding a series of waterfalls, including the dramatic Véu da Noiva and Cachoeira Grande.

The park’s flora is a vibrant mosaic of wildflowers, orchids, and twisted shrubs, earning it the nickname “Garden of Brazil,” while its fauna includes rare and endemic species such as the maned wolf, giant anteater, and the elusive Cipo canastero, a bird found nowhere else on Earth. Rock climbing, mountain biking, and kayaking are popular activities, with the park’s quartzite cliffs and river rapids providing both thrill and tranquility. The Circuito das Lagoas trail, dotted with natural pools, invites visitors to cool off in crystal-clear waters after a day of exploration.
