The Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden (West Gate) is an entrance to the Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, a massive 207-hectare botanical garden located in Songjiang District at No. 3888 Chenhua Road, Shanghai, China, that was officially started in March 2007 and is among the best botanical gardens in the world.
The garden showcases East China's native flora with over 9,000 species and houses more than 15,000 plant species total, making it a sanctuary for ecological diversity including rare Chinese plants like the dawn redwood and ginkgo biloba, as well as Japanese cherry blossoms, African cycads, and Australian eucalyptus trees.
The garden features energy-efficient greenhouses with intelligent climate control systems and sustainable design, integrating science education with cultural elements to offer a unique botanical experience. Entering from the West Gate, visitors can see attractions at the entrance, while the garden also offers Gate 1 (North Gate) with large areas of beautiful cherry blossoms and massive flower seas.
