St. Peter’s Cathedral on Likoma Island is one of Malawi’s most remarkable historic and religious landmarks.

Built by Anglican missionaries between 1903 and 1911, the cathedral serves as the seat of the Anglican Diocese of Northern Malawi and stands on the shores of Lake Malawi. Constructed largely from local granite and designed in the Gothic Revival style, the cathedral is famous for its impressive size, beautiful stained-glass windows, and detailed stonework.
