Tham Kong Lo Cave

Tham Kong Lo Cave, also known as Kong Lor Cave, is one of Laos’s most spectacular natural attractions, located in Khammouane Province within Phou Hin Boun National Protected Area.

This enormous limestone cave stretches for about 7 to 7.5 kilometers and is carved by the Nam Hin Bun River, which flows directly through its interior. Visitors explore the cave by long-tail boat, traveling through vast underground chambers with soaring ceilings, dramatic rock formations, stalactites, and stalagmites.

Some sections reach nearly 100 meters in height and width, creating an awe-inspiring atmosphere that has earned the cave a reputation as one of Southeast Asia’s geological wonders. The cave also serves as a natural passage between remote valleys and villages, offering a unique combination of adventure, geology, and local culture. Surrounded by karst mountains, forests, and rural landscapes, Tham Kong Lo Cave is widely regarded as one of the must-see destinations in Laos.
