Twierdza Kłodzko in Kłodzko, Poland, is a massive 18th-century fortress complex crowning Castle Hill, one of Europe's largest and best-preserved bastion systems, originally stemming from a 10th-century wooden stronghold first noted in 981.

Evolving into a stone castle under Silesian Piasts in the 13th-14th centuries, it was modernized by Austrians after 1622 with bastions like Jabłonka, Ludmila, and Wenceslas during the Thirty Years' War, then vastly expanded by Prussia's Frederick II post-1741 conquest, adding crownworks, underground tunnels, and forts like Owcza Góra for border defense.

It endured sieges including Napoleonic assaults in 1807, served Prussian and later Nazi roles through World War II, and now offers tourist tours of its labyrinthine corridors and battle-scarred walls.
