Upper Cheung Sha Beach
Hong Kong, China
Upper Cheung Sha Beach is the quieter, more secluded half of Cheung Sha Beach on the south coast of Lantau Island in Hong Kong.
It forms part of Hong Kong’s longest beach, with a long stretch of soft, white‑sanded shoreline and clear water rated as good to fair in quality, making it ideal for swimming and relaxing rather than heavy crowds. The beach is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and has barbecue pits, changing rooms, showers, toilets, and a light refreshment kiosk, with views across the South China Sea toward small offshore islands and occasional sightings of Lantau’s wild water buffaloes along the shore.
