Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya meaning “The Smoke That Thunders,” is one of the world’s most spectacular waterfalls, located on the Zambezi River near Livingstone on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The river, more than two kilometers wide at this point, plunges into a series of deep basalt gorges, creating a roaring curtain of water, mist, and rainbows that can be seen from many kilometers away.
