The Wascana Centre Authority in Regina, Canada, was established in 1962 to oversee the development, conservation, and management of Wascana Centre, a large urban park surrounding Wascana Lake.

The park spans about 930 hectares and includes key features such as the Saskatchewan Legislative Building, the University of Regina, the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, the Saskatchewan Science Centre, and more. Originally, the lake was created in 1883 by damming Wascana Creek to provide water for the Canadian Pacific Railway and later became a recreational hub for residents.

The Authority was a unique partnership involving the provincial government, the city, and the university, tasked with implementing master plans to maintain the park’s natural beauty, cultural significance, and recreational functions.

Over the decades, it has evolved under coordinated plans and various renovations to balance environmental sustainability, public use, and institutional interests, making Wascana Centre a vital green space and cultural focal point for Regina.
