Wissembourg is a charming historic town in the Bas-Rhin department of Alsace, northeastern France, located directly on the German border.

Set along the Lauter River, it is known for its blend of French and German influences, reflecting a long and complex history between the two countries. The town grew around a Benedictine abbey founded in the 7th century and today boasts a beautifully preserved old center with canals, half-timbered houses, medieval streets, and impressive historic buildings.
