Verified Zamek Rycerski w Ciepłowodach

Ciepłowody, Poland, Poland

Zamek Rycerski w Ciepłowodach, located in Ciepłowody village in Lower Silesia, Poland, began as a wooden-earth stronghold founded around the early 13th century by Albert I z Brodą, with his descendant Albert III residing there by 1287.

A stone residential tower on a rectangular 8x10m plan emerged by the late 13th or turn of the 14th century, later surrounded by a defensive wall and moat, serving owners like robber knight Georg Reibnitz in the 15th century and the Piasts of Ziębice.

The Seidlitz family expanded it around 1540 with a Renaissance residential wing and casemate bastions designed by Giovanni Bernardo from Verona, but it gradually fell into ruin after the 18th century, leaving today’s evocative remnants of walls, tower fragments, and a moat amid scenic woods.
