Zamek Rzucewo
Rzucewo, Poland, Poland
Zamek Rzucewo, also known as Zamek Jan III Sobieski, is a striking neo-Gothic palace perched on a cliff overlooking the Bay of Puck in Rzucewo near Puck, northern Poland's Pomeranian Voivodeship.
Constructed between 1840 and 1845 by Prussian aristocrat Gustav von Below to designs by renowned architect Friedrich August Stüler, it replaced earlier manor houses owned by families like the Wejhers and Radziwiłłs, with King Jan III Sobieski acquiring it in 1685 for hunts.
Featuring red brick construction, two wings, a central tower with sea-view terrace, octagonal turrets, pointed-arch portals, and vaulted interiors with heraldic motifs, it served post-WWII as an agricultural school before renovation into a luxury hotel amid a historic landscape park and Sobieski lime alley.
