Åkeshofs slott
Solna, Sweden, Sweden
Åkeshofs slott is a historic 17th-century manor house turned castle hotel in Bromma (Solna area), Stockholm, Sweden, originally known as Nockeby Säteri and first documented in the 1400s under Stockholm councilman Peder Ålänning.
Purchased in 1635 by Baron Åke Axelsson (Natt och Dag), who began construction around 1650 and named it after himself, it was completed by his daughter Barbro and later reshaped in the 1720s by Gabriel Stierncrona with a mansard roof, then Rococo interiors in the 1740s under Carl Hårleman featuring Johan Pasch murals.
After periods of decline including use as a hospital and asylum, full restoration from 1987 transformed it into a conference venue and hotel with preserved 17th-18th century elements amid gardens, now celebrated for its historical oasis vibe near Stockholm's urban core.
