The Aldobrandesca Fortress of Arcidosso is a remarkably well-preserved medieval castle that dominates the historic center of Arcidosso, a town on the slopes of Mount Amiata in southern Tuscany.

Built around the 10th century and later expanded by the powerful Aldobrandeschi family, it served as an important military and administrative stronghold for centuries. The fortress is known for its imposing stone walls, towers, and commanding position overlooking the surrounding countryside. It played a key role in regional conflicts before passing under the control of Siena and later the Medici rulers of Tuscany.

Today, the restored fortress is open to visitors and houses several museums dedicated to local history, archaeology, medieval life, and historical artifacts.
