Altes Schloss Kißlegg
Kißlegg, Germany, Germany
Altes Schloss Kißlegg in Germany was built between 1560 and 1570 by Hans Ulrich von Schellenberg and was originally the seat of the Schellenberg family.
It later came into the possession of the Waldburg-Wolfegg family, who still own it today. The castle features four round corner towers and high stepped gables, with Renaissance frescoes from 1580 depicting biblical scenes preserved in the northeastern turret. In the early 18th century, the interior was redecorated in the Baroque style, including detailed stuccowork.
The castle has been used for various purposes over time, including seminars and cultural events, and it houses the local museum and cultural office. It is surrounded by a park that extends to the nearby Zeller See lake. The building remains a well-preserved example of Renaissance and Baroque architecture in the region and continues to serve as a cultural landmark under the ownership of the Waldburg-Wolfegg family.
