Altyn Emel National Park in the Almaty Region of Kazakhstan is a vast nature reserve established in 1996, covering about 4,600 square kilometers. It features diverse landscapes including deserts, sand dunes, steppe, mountain ranges, and the Ili River delta which supports rich biodiversity.

The park is famous for the Singing Dune, a large sand dune that produces a unique humming sound when the wind passes over it, as well as the colorful layered rock formations of the Aktau and Katutau mountains. It serves as a habitat for rare and endangered species such as the kulan (wild ass), goitered gazelle, and snow leopard, along with over 260 bird species, making it a significant site for wildlife conservation and birdwatching. 

Visitors can explore archaeological sites with ancient petroglyphs and enjoy hiking, wildlife watching, and jeep tours in a landscape that combines geological wonders with cultural heritage. The park plays a vital role in protecting the region's natural and historical treasures.​
