Anar Castle, also called Arg-e Anar, is a historic fortress in Anar, Kerman Province, Iran.
It dates back to the Sasanian period, was later repaired and reused in the Safavid era, and is known today as one of Iran’s national heritage sites. The castle sits on a hill in the center of Anar city and covers about 11,179 square meters.
Sources describe it as having several towers and a rectangular plan, with older and later construction layers showing its long use over time. Its interior once contained buildings of up to three floors, but many were demolished in the early 1980s. Even so, Anar Castle remains an important reminder of the region’s defensive and architectural history.
