Arches National Park
Utah, United States
Arches National Park in southeastern Utah is a surreal red-rock wonderland, home to the highest concentration of natural stone arches on Earth—over 2,000 of them, sculpted by millions of years of erosion and geological drama. Spanning more than 76,000 acres near the town of Moab, the park also features towering pinnacles, massive balanced rocks, and sandstone fins that seem to defy gravity.
The park’s most iconic landmark is Delicate Arch, a freestanding natural arch that has become a symbol of Utah itself. Other must-see formations include Landscape Arch, one of the longest natural arches in the world, and the Windows Section, where multiple arches cluster together in a dramatic display. Visitors can explore the park via scenic drives, short walks, or challenging hikes like the Devil’s Garden Trail.
The desert climate means hot summers and chilly winters, with dramatic temperature swings even within a single day. From April through October, a timed entry reservation is required during peak hours, so planning ahead is key.
