Bagh-e-Jinnah, Lahore
Lahore, Pakistan
Bagh-e-Jinnah in Lahore, Pakistan, formerly known as Lawrence Gardens, is a historic park established in 1862 during British colonial rule. Modeled after London's Kew Gardens, it was initially named after John Lawrence, a British Viceroy of India.
The garden covers approximately 141 acres and features a rich collection of around 150 varieties of trees, shrubs, palms, and flowers, alongside facilities such as the Quaid-e-Azam Library, cricket grounds, tennis courts, an open-air theater, and a mosque. It serves as a cultural and recreational hub for locals and tourists, hosting events and promoting eco-tourism.
After Pakistan's independence, the garden was renamed to honor Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the country's founder, becoming a symbol of national heritage while retaining its botanical and historical significance.
