Birmoghlasht Summer Fort
Pakistan, Pakistan
Birmoghlasht Summer Fort is a historic fort built around 1910 by His Highness Shuja ul-Mulk, the ruler of the former Chitral State in Pakistan.
It is located on top of a hill approximately 9,000 feet above sea level, making it a cool retreat during the summer months. The Mehtar and his family used to move to this fort to enjoy the cooler climate and hold court. The fort now stands in a dilapidated state but remains a significant landmark close to Chitral Gol National Park, home to diverse wildlife such as snow leopards and ibexes.
It attracts many tourists each year who come to appreciate its historical importance and scenic views over the surrounding region.
