Borgo di Drugolo is a small historic hamlet nestled in the hills near Lake Garda, within the municipality of Lonato del Garda in Lombardy. The village has ancient origins, possibly dating back to the Lombard era, and is centered around the privately owned Castello di Drugolo, a medieval castle whose history stretches back to the 10th century. Over the centuries, the castle and village were owned by several important noble families, including the Federici, Vimercati, and Averoldi families. The castle was rebuilt and expanded during the late Middle Ages and remained a significant local residence for hundreds of years. Today, Borgo di Drugolo is known for its peaceful rural setting, historic architecture, and beautifully restored buildings. Parts of the ancient village have been converted into holiday accommodations, while the castle remains a private residence, preserving the area's unique blend of medieval heritage and natural beauty.
