The Botanical Garden at the University of Sindh in Jamshoro, Pakistan, is part of the Institute of Plant Sciences (IPS), one of the key research and educational facilities within the faculty of Natural Sciences at this university, which was established in 1947 as the oldest university in the country.

The Institute of Plant Sciences maintains well-equipped laboratories, a herbarium, an arboretum, and two small botanical gardens that serve as living laboratories for students and researchers in plant sciences. The herbarium, which was initiated in the 1950s primarily as a teaching resource, works alongside the botanical garden as one of the two key components of the Institute, with the botanical garden focusing on establishing and maintaining documented living plant collections.

In a significant recent development, the university inaugurated a new Miyawaki Forest and Herbal Corner at the IPS Botanical Garden on November 4, 2025, under the IPS Green Drive initiative, marking a major step toward promoting climate resilience and environmental awareness on campus. The Miyawaki Forest, launched in March 2025 as a pilot phase, houses over 580 native plants across 5,200 square feet, while the Herbal Corner focused on Hibiscus and Lemongrass features 250 plants over 2,200 square feet, both enhancing biodiversity and serving as educational facilities.
