Burgruine Großbundenbach, located on a rocky spur overlooking the Großbundenbach valley near Großbundenbach in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, was first mentioned in 1177 as a medieval fortress tied to noble families serving the Dukes of Zweibrücken, including the Counts of Steinkallenfels and Barons Cathcart von Carbiston.

It endured repeated destruction—in 1468 during an inheritance war, 1525 in the Peasants' War, and 1635 amid the Thirty Years' War—before a Renaissance-style rebuild around 1533 evidenced by a surviving portal stone.

Auctioned in 1815 under Napoleonic secularization and quarried for local stone, no original plans exist for reconstruction, leaving scant wall remnants as a hiking landmark today.
