Burg Elkerhausen is a former water castle situated directly in the village of Elkerhausen, part of Weinbach in Hesse's Limburg-Weilburg district, Germany, serving as the ancestral seat of the notorious robber barons known as the Herren von Elkerhausen.
First mentioned in records around 1149, its pentagonal ring wall and moat fed by the Weinbach were destroyed in 1352 by Erzbischof Balduin von Trier amid regional conflicts, prompting the construction of the nearby Burg Neu-Elkerhausen as a replacement. Today, remnants of the structure persist in private ownership amid the village setting.
