Burg Gudenau in Wachtberg, Germany, is the largest moated castle in the municipality, built as a two-part water fortress in the early 13th century near Villip at the confluence of the Godesberg and Arzdorf streams.

Expanded around 1560 with a four-winged main structure featuring Gothic bay windows, a round corner tower with a pointed slate roof, three Baroque-domed towers, and a five-story gate tower with an octagonal clock tower in the outer bailey, it gained its current form in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Its standout feature is the Rhineland's only surviving private Baroque garden with Italian influences across three terraces, open to visitors weekdays from March to mid-December, while the privately owned site blends historic charm with serene flood plain surroundings.
