Featuring a prominent square keep with 3-meter-thick walls—originally 20 meters tall but now 15 meters—it also minted imperial coins and functioned as a key administrative center in the region. Accessible via marked paths from Wetzlar's old town, the site offers scenic views and draws visitors for its historical significance and forested setting, though the ruins themselves are compact.
